Business Analyst - Financial Services

Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Responsibilities

 â€‹â€‹

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, including product managers and department heads, to gather, analyze, and document requirements for core banking systems (e.g., account management, payments, loans, transaction processing, tax calculation).

  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and process flows using modeling techniques such as UML (Unified Modeling Language) and BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation).

  • Work closely with technical teams to design, configure, and implement core banking systems that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in system integration and data migration, ensuring data integrity and seamless operations.

  • Develop test scenarios and test cases for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that the system meets both business and technical requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with local and global banking regulations (e.g., Basel III, GDPR, PSD2) and industry standards throughout all project lifecycle phases.

  • Provide recommendations for optimizing business operations and enhancing profitability

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the financial services sector

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the financial services industry, with a focus on core banking, investment banking, or asset management

  • Strong experience with UML (Unified Modeling Language) to create use case diagrams, class diagrams, activity diagrams, etc., for system design and analysis.

  • Expertise in BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) for process modeling, including creating BPMN diagrams for process analysis and optimization.

  • Experience with core banking systems such as Temenos T24 or order management systems such as Simcorp Dimension and Charles River.

  • Good knowledge of banking regulations such as Basel III, PSD2, GDPR, and AML/KYC regulations.

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, and business rule validation.

  • Proven experience in documenting business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar software.

  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies (Scrum/Agile) for iterative project execution.

  • Experience in data migration, data validation, and integrating core banking systems with third-party solutions.

  • Experience with data modeling tools and technologies (e.g., ER diagrams, relational databases, or ETL processes) is a plus.

  • Ability to conduct workshops, training sessions, and presentations for end-users to ensure smooth system adoption.

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) are a plus.

  • Fluency in both English and German
